Chester is a Marin County native, born and raised in Woodacre. At Drake High he participated in the Sea-Disc Environmental Science Academy. Chester then explored geography at Humboldt State University, leading to field studies experiences with the Sierra Institute studying sustainability and bioregionalism in Northern California, as well as a Geography Field Studies Program in China and Tibet where he conducted a project on the modernization of food culture. "Being a Geographer in the 21st century I have gained a global sense of the modern world, leaving me with an understanding of the importance of a localized lifestyle." After working as a Naturalist at the Point Reyes Summer Camp in 2009, Chester is now an integral part of the Marin Organic School Lunch and Gleaning Program team.
