Mill Valley Market is an independent family owned grocery store. In some ways they're old fashioned, yet it seems the industry has turned full circle, back to the approach they've been using for years. They've always been about quality, excellent service and selection. They're nothing but local and all about sustainability.

Compared to many specialty markets, Mill Valley Market is unique . . . hard-to-find products are balanced by a full array of everyday grocery items, making them a full-service grocery store. So whether you're looking for locally grown organic produce, or just a box of Wheaties, you will likely find everything you need.

The owners and staff are your friends as well as your neighbors. What’s important to you is what drives them — healthy, good tasting food and community service — it’s what they’ve always been about.

In 2008, they became a certified Bay Area Green Business. They were the the first and continue to be the only supermarket in Mill Valley that is certified as a green business.

At the Mill Valley Market, the commitment to local, farm direct, organic produce goes a step further than most. They believe very strongly in local, organically produced fruits and vegetables, so strongly in fact that they have an organic farm of their own. Formerly known as Farmer Jim's Produce, named for Jim Canepa, Mill Valley Market Farm is a 4 acre organic mixed fruit and vegetable farm in Glen Ellen. Mill Valley Market Farm is owned and operated by the Canepa family, and is committed to providing you, the customer, the highest quality produce around. Please look for the Farmer Jim's Produce logo on products in the produce department including tomatoes, basil, melons, cucumbers and much more.
